2015-16 Department Chairs and Directors Workshops begin Sept 2

This year’s Department Chairs and Directors Workshops begin with a presentation by Special Assistant to the Provost and Executive Vice President Jerman Rose. The workshop takes place on Sept 2 from 7:30-9 a.m. and will provide an overview of WSU’s structure and academic policies. It also addresses faculty recruitment, mentoring and retention efforts at WSU.

Specific topics include:
-University Organization
-The Faculty Senate
-The Strategic Plan
-The Academic Plan
-The Faculty Manual
-Acquiring a mentor
-The recruitment process
-The partner accommodation policy
-Professional leave
-The retirement policy

Regents approve new degree programs, discuss faculty listening sessions

Members of the Washington State University Board of Regents authorized three new degree programs as part of a slate of nearly two dozen action items approved during Friday’s meeting on the Spokane campus.
