September 11 Remembrance

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,

On the morning of September 11, 2001, the lives of 2,996 were lost, including those of over 400 emergency responders. September 11 was proclaimed Patriot Day shortly thereafter, and has since been observed as a day of mourning and remembrance.

As we approach the sixteenth anniversary of this tragic event, we ask that you reflect and remember the fallen. We invite you to join us in a moment of silence at 9:59 a.m. next Monday (September 11). An Honor Guard will also be present on the Glenn Terrell Mall at this time, courtesy of the Air Force ROTC Detachment 905.

We are all one Cougar family, and we will continue to stand together.

Sincerely,

Daniel J. Bernardo
Provost and Executive Vice President

Glen R. Downing, Colonel, USAF
Commander, AFROTC Det 905
