All WSU campuses, areas, and units are expected to have started the phased reopening process as of July 12. As those employees that have been working remotely from home begin to transition back to working on campus, here are a few reminders related to asset accountability:
- Departments need to ensure that equipment sent home with employees, such as desktops, laptops, personally held devices, printers, office chairs, office desks, stand-up desk converters, etc., are accounted for.
- If employees are returning to work on campus full-time, all assigned equipment should return with them.
- If employees have been approved for a hybrid on-campus plan, then this should also include a plan for assigned equipment. Please determine if employees will be responsible to transport equipment each day they are working on campus or if some equipment will continue to be assigned to their remote work from home location and some assigned to their on-campus work location. In both cases, the departmental equipment coordinator should have an up-to-date inventory record for all equipment.
Although not necessarily individually tracked, office supplies such as pens, paper, calculators, etc., should also be returned to campus in accordance with the employee’s approved return to work plan.
