Psychology researchers seeking mothers of infants 3-12 months old

We are currently looking for moms who have babies who are 3-12 months old to participate in a study for the WSU Psychology Department’s Infant Temperament Laboratory! If this describes you or someone you know, please tune in for details!

Our research is looking at: how providing parents with information about babies’ emerging personalities may be helpful. The study consists of two rounds of paper and pencil questionnaires asking about your experiences of being a parent, information about your baby, etc. We will also be conducting 2 brief visits to your home (about 20 minutes each) to observe you and your baby in 2 activities: a typical play episode and another play activity with one of our toys.

Here’s the part we expect to be beneficial to you! Between home visits, we will be providing you with information about infant temperament and how it develops in babies your child’s age. We will also compensate you with a $10 gift card at the end of the study for your time.

We expect that the study will take about 2 hours of your time total. We also expect that the temperament feedback itself will be beneficial, informing how you interact with and understand your baby’s unique, emerging personality traits.

If you are interested in participating, please email the project coordinator at alyssa.neumann@wsu.edu or call at (509) 330-6147 and leave a voicemail with your name and phone number. We can set up the initial home visit anytime in the next couple weeks or months.

Our lab’s research homepage can be found here: https://labs.wsu.edu/infant-temperament/

Hope to hear from you soon!
