Open Enrollment 2020 – How to make changes

During the Open Enrollment period, November 1-30, you can make certain changes to your benefit elections online. Changes can be completed and submitted online as well as by paper form. All changes must be submitted by November 30; online submissions are due by midnight, and hardcopy forms are due to your campus’ HRS office by 5 p.m. on November 27, 2019.

How do I make changes online?

Changes and attestations related to your medical and/or dental coverage can be made by logging onto your HCA My Account portal. If you have not previously set up your account, click “New to My Account? Register now” to start the process.

Changes you can make through My Account include: activating, waiving or changing medical or dental coverage, waiving or reactivating coverage on a dependent, and responding to the spousal premium surcharge attestation.

Enrollment or re-enrollment for the Flexible Spending Arrangement (FSA) and the Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP) can also be done online at the Navia Benefits portal. You must re-enroll for each year that you wish to participate in these benefits.

How do I make changes by paper form?

As of November 1, hardcopy enrollment forms will be available for download at the HRS Open Enrollment website or can be picked up at the HRS Pullman office, located in the French Administration building, room 139. It is important to note that paper forms must be received by your campus’ HRS office by 5 P.M. on November 27. Hard copy forms are required when adding a dependent to your plan for the first time, as well as to permanently delete someone from your coverage (e.g. divorce). When adding a dependent, you will also need to provide dependent verification documentation. If you plan on mailing your forms, please complete your forms early and leave plenty of time for them to arrive.

Hardcopy completed forms can be sent in multiple ways:

  • Fax to 509-335-1259
  • Email to hrs@wsu.edu with SSNs removed (please include your WSU ID instead)
  • USPS Mail to 139 French Administration Building, PO Box 641014, Pullman, WA 99164-1014
  • Campus Mail to 1014

Questions can be directed to HRS Benefit Services at (509) 335-4521 or hrs@wsu.edu.
