Norris to serve as student regent

Alyssa Norris, an Honors College senior majoring in civil engineering, will serve as the student member of the Washington State University Board of Regents for the 2017-18 academic year.

Norris was a finalist for the prestigious national Harry S. Truman scholarship during her junior year. Last year she also was named the National Academy of Engineering Grand Challenges Scholar, the Outstanding Junior in the WSU Department of Civil and Environment Engineering, and was awarded the WSU President’s Leadership and Engagement Award of Distinction.

The Board of Regents is the university’s governing body. The board consists of 10 members, one of whom is a student.
