Nominations open: Oaks award recognizes excellence in use of academic technology

Nominations are now being accepted for the second annual Oaks Award, which recognize a faculty member’s innovative application of an existing technology to transform teaching and learning in their classroom (face-to-face, online, videoconferencing). Academic Outreach & Innovation (AOI) established the Oaks Award last academic year in honor of the visionary leadership of Dr. Muriel Oaks, WSU Dean Emeritus. Connie Remsberg, clinical assistant professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at WSU Spokane, was selected the winner of the 2017 Oaks Award.

Faculty on any WSU campus wishing to be considered for the Oaks Award are invited to submit an application. You may nominate others or encourage deserving colleagues to apply. Nominations will be accepted until February 1, 2018 and the winner will be notified by April 1.  The award winner will receive $3,000 in faculty development funds, distributed to the award winner’s academic department.

To learn more about the award, including the evaluation metric, and to apply, please visit the Oaks award application webpage.
