Nominate by March 16 for the Student Affairs Recognition Ceremony!

The inaugural Student Affairs Recognition Ceremony will recognize some of the important contributions to the Division of Student Affairs’ mission.  The event will take place on Tuesday, March 29, in the Compton Union Building’s Senior Ballroom from noon-2 p.m.  All staff within the Division of Student Affairs are encouraged to attend.  Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served.

Nominations are being welcomed for the following awards:

Outstanding Student Award

An award to recognize excellent contributions by an undergraduate or graduate student within Student Affairs that demonstrated outstanding leadership while executing the values of WSU’s Student Affairs.

Outstanding New Staff (5 Years & Under)

An award to recognize excellent contributions by a new staff member within Student Affairs that has 5 years and less working within Student Affairs.  The recipient will be one who has shown significant contributions to the University and the Division of Student Affairs.  They must have 5 years or less of combined Student Affairs work at WSU and other institutions of higher education.

The Student Affairs Pillar Award

An award for a staff member who has worked at least five years in the Division who consistently provides leadership through their work and example.  The recipient will be one who has given significantly of themselves for the University and has also made ways for others to achieve their goals.  This is awarded to a staff member for their significant contributions to the Student Affairs area over the course of their career.  Their years of service to Student Affairs may be combined from WSU and other higher education institutions.

Community Partner Excellence Award

This award acknowledges important partnering contributions to the Division of Student Affairs by a partner that is not formally recognized as being part of WSU’s Student Affairs.  The award recognizes an individual or community organization for their significant partnering efforts with Student Affairs based on the mission of Student Affairs.

Commitment to Diversity Award

This award recognizes a staff member of the Division of Student Affairs who has demonstrated a significant effort in promoting equity, inclusion, and access for all students with special attention to underrepresented and/or underserved students.
