myWSU maintenance scheduled for July 1-3

Enterprise Systems has been working with Oracle Managed Cloud Services (OMCS) on a major upgrade to our myWSU Campus Solutions (CS) environment. This coordinated upgrade will be completed in 2 phases with the first phase focused on the technical upgrade, scheduled for July 1-3, while the second phase focused on functional upgrades, is planned for Fall 2017. The technical upgrade includes configuring all new CS servers (8) and upgrading those servers to the latest Campus Solutions 9.2 version. The new servers have been configured and the upgrade to the new software will require a significant amount of work to be completed by the OMCS and Enterprise Systems teams.

To prepare for this myWSU maintenance, Enterprise Systems will begin our pre-upgrade activities on Friday, June 30, at 10 p.m. and myWSU will go offline at that time. The myWSU Login page will be replaced by our myWSU Maintenance page containing links to the resources end users can access while myWSU is undergoing maintenance. Additionally, all normal end of fiscal year procedures will be started at 12:01 a.m. July 1 and run to completion prior to beginning the CS 9.2 upgrade project.

The myWSU CS 9.2 project will begin at 2 a.m. Saturday, July 1, and the expected duration of the myWSU maintenance window for the project may last until after close of business on Monday, July 3.  Enterprise Systems will provide status updates to the university community on the progress of the upgrade project and alert the WSU community upon completion of the project. Once myWSU is back online at the completion of the upgrade project, end users will need to clear their browser cache prior to accessing myWSU.

Since the maintenance duration includes business hours on Monday, July 3, and access to myWSU will not be available for part/most of the work day, personnel needing access to myWSU for their work tasks are encouraged to talk with their supervisors and explore alternative work plans for Monday, July 3.
