Michael Kimmel Keynote Wednesday, Jan. 17

Michael Kimmel is a renowned sociologist who has written extensively on the subject of masculinity. Men for Social Change has partnered with ASWSU, Panhellenic, and IFC to bring him here to give a talk and a workshop. He’ll be in the senior ballroom at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, January 17. All are welcome.

In 1950, most Americans had completed the transition from adolescence to adulthood by age 21 or so. Today, it’s more likely to be by age 30. It’s a new stage of development, and Kimmel is our tour guide in this presentation based on his best-selling book, GUYLAND. Based on interviews with more than 400 young people across the country, Kimmel offers a glimpse of why so many guys are adrift through their 20s, and offers a roadmap towards a more conscious adulthood.

If you are interested in attending the workshop after the keynote, please contact Annika at annika.krol@wsu.ed. The workshop is invitiation-only and space is limited!
