ITS maintenance: GlobalProtect VPN upgrade tonight (6/29) and tomorrow (6/30)

Information Technology Services (ITS) will be upgrading the Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN client this evening (Monday, June 29, 2020) and tomorrow (Tuesday, June 30, 2020) beginning at 8 p.m. on both dates.

Though no outage is expected, any users who are logged into the GlobalProtect VPN client when the change is implemented may be disconnected and have to reconnect to the client.

Users should upgrade the GlobalProtect VPN client if/when prompted. Some users may already be running a higher version of the client and thus will not be prompted to upgrade.

If users have problems connecting to the GlobalProtect VPN client after upgrading, ITS suggests uninstalling and reinstalling the client, then rebooting the computer.

The maintenance schedule is as follows:

  • Monday, June 29, 2020, at 8 p.m.
    • Spokane Border Firewall
  • Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at 8 p.m.
    • Pullman Border Firewall
