The 2019 MLK Community Celebration will be held at WSU Pullman’s CUB Senior Ballroom on Thursday, Jan. 17 from 7 – 9 p.m.

The event will feature keynote speaker Ibram X. Kendi, who is a New York Times-bestselling and National Book Award-winning author and historian. His books include “Stamped from the Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America.” Kendi is a professor of history and international relations, as well as the founding director of the Antiracist Research and Policy Center at American University.

In his talk, Kendi will discuss the roots of racism and how he believes we can end racial discrimination. He will also host a book signing directly following the community celebration.

The MLK Community Celebration is free and open to the public. All WSU campuses can also register to stream the event live at this link.
