GIESOC accepting applications/nominations for new members

The President’s Commission for Gender Identity/Expression and Sexual Orientation is accepting applications and nominations for new members from all WSU campuses. GIESO is also accepting applications for the following roles:  5 student representatives, 2 faculty representatives, and 2 staff representatives. If interested in leadership opportunities we also have the following roles; Secretary (2019-2020), and Historian (2019-2020). Additionally we are looking for students, faculty, and staff to fill in positions. Applications and nominations are due by Thursday, August 15.

GIESO’s purpose is:

To advise the president and the chief diversity officer on matters relating to needs and concerns of the campus communities related to gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation.  To identify and advocate for policies and services in support of issues regarding gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation.  To inform campus communities about the University’s policies, initiatives, priorities, plans, and services regarding issues of gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation.
