Free Weather Spotter Training Nov. 15

WSU and Whitman County Emergency Management would like to invite you to come to a free training presented by the National Weather Service. The training will be Wednesday, November 15, from 6-8 p.m. at the Public Safety Building classroom.

The National Weather Service in Spokane WA is seeking volunteers who would like to become official Weather Spotters.  Weather Spotters are the “eyes and ears” of the NWS and provide valuable weather reports, which cannot be replaced.  Spotter reports, coupled with radar, satellite, and other data, have enabled the NWS to issue more timely and accurate warning and statements for many types of hazardous weather. The training is free of charge and prior experience is not necessary. A Meteorologist from the Spokane National Weather Service (NWS) will present. The Public Safety Building on campus is located on 2201 East Grimes Way. Parking next to the building is available for free after 5pm.

The Notices and Announcements section is provided as a service to the WSU community for sharing events such as lectures, trainings, and other highly transactional types of information related to the university experience. Information provided and opinions expressed may not reflect the understanding or opinion of WSU. Accuracy of the information presented is the responsibility of those who submitted it. The self-uploaded posts are reviewed for compliance with state statutes and ethics guidelines but are not edited for spelling, grammar, or clarity.
