Enhancing career success with grants

Partnering with your research development office can enhance your prospects for success. This Research Week session will provide insights into how to strategically plan your career and will provide advise on how to obtain grants that will help you become successful in your field. Designed for early- to mid-career faculty, this session may also be relevant for postdoctoral researchers and graduate students.

The Office of Research Advancement and Partnerships will host a discussion with a panel of successful faculty about how they have built their funding portfolios while working towards becoming respected experts within their disciplines, and how engaging the Office of Research has enhanced their development. The goal of this session is to provide you with actionable recommendations for planning your career, enhancing your value to the research community, and creating a plan to attain funding for your research, scholarly, and educational activities.

Panelist include: Dr. Anjan Bose, Regents Professor and Distinguished Professor in Power from the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science; Dr. Stephanie Porter, Assistant Professor in the School of Biological Sciences; Dr. Somayeh Nassiri, Assistant Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering; and Dr. Lav Khot, Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Systems Engineering
