Do your PowerPoints lead to power naps? Have a look at PowToon, says Ruth Gregory, WSU Global Campus emerging technology and multimedia specialist, in the seventh episode of her new video blog, “Teaching With Technology.”
PowToon combines slides, texts and cartoon-style graphics to enliven presentations, she says, and is one of several engaging alternatives to PowerPoint. Previous videos in her series cover connecting with students over their cell phones, using clickers and QR codes, and the Google art project.
Each video episode is three to five minutes long, and all are available on YouTube. Those interested in learning more about incorporating technology in their classes can contact Gregory at (509) 335-2105 or Ruth.Gregory@wsu.edu.
