April 19, 2021
Dear WSU Pullman students,
The fall 2021 semester will begin in just four short months, and we can’t wait to see all
of you here on the Pullman campus.
Our student leaders, faculty, and staff are developing an expansive and welcoming experience
that will let you connect with fellow Cougs as safely as possible.
Cougs in the Classroom
We’re all eager to get back into the classroom, so we’re planning a robust in‑person component
for every course. The fall 2021 course schedule, available now (via MyWSU and by clicking “Manage Classes”), lists the delivery mode for each
class and we’ve created resources to help you navigate it. Most of the classes offered will be
fully in person. All our classrooms and labs are set up to accommodate physical distancing
requirements and modified capacity levels. In addition, we are creating dozens of smaller section
in‑person classroom experiences that will create a stronger learning environment and will keep
everyone safe.
A Full Coug Experience
The Coug experience is about building connections with fellow students, exploring your interests
and passions, and finding your place in the Cougar family.
We’re expanding the Coug experience with more opportunities for you to engage in person with the
many events, activities, programs, and services that WSU Pullman has to offer. Whether you want to
lead a student club, engage in some healthy competition in an intramural sport, volunteer in the
community, or just hang out with your friends at the CUB, we’ll be ready for you.
Bring your mask and your Cougar spirit, and we’ll make sure you’re able to enjoy all the things
that make WSU great.
Preparing Together
We know many of you have questions around whether vaccines will be required for students this fall.
Discussions are underway and we will announce a decision in the coming weeks. We strongly encourage
all faculty, staff, and students to get vaccinated prior to the fall semester. All Washington residents
over the age of 16 are now eligible to receive the COVID‑19 vaccine. For those living in Washington,
the easiest way to schedule vaccine appointments is by visiting the Washington State Vaccine Locator.
We are confident that, together, we can create a high‑quality educational experience that is also
fun, safe, and engaging. We look forward to a campus environment where we can spend more time together
and enjoy all the things that make being a Coug truly special.
On behalf of all of us at WSU, we look forward to welcoming you to campus this fall.
Stay healthy and Go Cougs!
