Become a #CougsGive ambassador, share your passion

April 14: Cougs Give.

Washington State University’s annual day of giving—#CougsGive—will launch April 14. The entire Cougar family is invited to step up and participate in this one-day, system-wide fundraising initiative.

“I encourage the entire WSU community to get involved and help build momentum and impact for #CougsGive—to make this one for the record books,” said WSU President Kirk Schulz.

#CougsGive is dedicated to expanding, sharing and celebrating the many ways that philanthropy benefits our community. One of the highest-impact ways for faculty, staff and students to promote #CougsGive is by signing up to be an Ambassador.

#CougsGive Ambassadors create a personalized multiplier effect that helps ensure the broadest possible base of supporters are engaged, inspired and motivated to participate on April 14th. All WSU faculty, staff and students are invited to sign up as Ambassadors to promote #CougsGive among their friends, family and colleagues.

University Advancement has created a toolkit with sharable graphics and sample messaging that make it easy and fun to share your passion. Consider making a gift to one of the many giving challenges and other areas of focus showcased on April 14 and cheer on the entire WSU community as they demonstrate their Cougar Spirit on this day of giving.

Since 2018, the Cougar family has come together during #CougsGive to contribute $1.8 million to WSU scholarships, programs and student experiences.

This year’s theme is “Cougs Help Cougs”—and this has never been more apparent than the past 12 months. #CougsGive builds on the caring and goodwill shown by our alumni and friends during the pandemic, to create enthusiasm and support for giving opportunities centered around three main areas:

  • Student emergency/hardship funding
  • Advancing WSU’s land-grant mission, particularly in relation to COVID-19 research and community service
  • Helping Cougs achieve their goals and aspirations

“With the energy and commitment that Cougs are famous for, we have the potential to come together for the most successful CougsGive ever,” said Mike Connell, acting vice president for Advancement and CEO of the WSU Foundation. “Together we can strengthen opportunities for WSU students and faculty to excel system-wide.”
