WSU Global Campus Chancellor Dave Cillay is featured prominently in a Chronicle of Higher Education article examining the trend among universities nationwide to begin elevating the influence of online education.

“One way in which universities can signal the growing importance of their online divisions is by appointing a chancellor to lead them, which is what Washington State University did when it made David Cillay chancellor of the university’s Global Campus,” the Chronicle’s Feb. 16 article opens. “In October, Washington State became one of several public colleges in the country to adopt that high‑level leadership structure for its online campus.”

The online education operations of Penn State, along with University of Maryland, Purdue University and Colorado State University, also are mentioned in the article.
