Faculty, staff, and students system‑wide are invited to meet and evaluate Mitzi Montoya, the third of three finalists for the position of provost and executive vice president to visit WSU.

Montoya, currently the Sara Hart Kimball Dean of the College of Business at Oregon State University, will give a presentation and answer questions during a session open to the community from 9–10 a.m. on Monday, April 29 in PACCAR 202 on the Pullman campus. The session will be livestreamed (WSU network ID and password required) and broadcast to locations at each campus.

Montoya has served as dean of OSU’s College of Business since 2015. She is also executive dean, business and engineering division; the senior administrator for OSU’s Portland operations; and a professor in the College of Business.

Prior to joining OSU, Montoya served in a variety of administrative positions and as a faculty member at Arizona State University. Her administrative positions included vice president and university dean of entrepreneurship and innovation and vice provost for ASU’s polytechnic campus. She also served a year as ASU’s faculty athletics representative to the NCAA and Pac‑12.

Montoya earned a doctorate in business at Michigan State University, where she also earned a bachelor’s degree in applied engineering science.
