Faculty and staff throughout the WSU system have an affordable and welcoming office hub available when work takes them to the Pacific Northwest’s largest city.

WSU Seattle, located on the 29th floor of the 901 Fifth Ave. building, offers free meeting and work spaces and inexpensive, long‑term office options for university employees.

The high‑rise office suite has three meeting rooms that can accommodate groups of 6–20 people as well as a private office that can be reserved at no charge by visiting faculty and staff. There are also several larger meeting spaces within the commercial building, including a large‑capacity conference room that can hold up to 50 people and can be booked for free by WSU faculty and staff.

“We would like to spread the word that we have some great conference spaces and a private office for faculty and staff visiting the Seattle area to use at no charge,” said Margaret Singbeil, business operations manager for WSU Seattle. “It is a great opportunity for people doing business in the area to save both time and money.”

Faculty and staff interested in reserving one of the smaller capacity meeting rooms or private office should contact Singbeil about two to three weeks in advance. To reserve a larger conference space, Singbeil advises reaching out at least a month prior to the scheduled event.

Affordable work spaces for rent

WSU Seattle also has cubicle, interior and exterior office spaces available for faculty and staff to rent at low yearly rates. All work spaces come furnished with a desk, phone, monitor and filing cabinet or bookshelf for storage. Staff in the building are available to field general phone inquiries, provide mail retrieval and sign and accept for deliveries during business hours.

The building also provides around the clock security, controlled access to the floor outside of business hours, a parking facility and free access to on‑site gym and showers.

“A workspace at a comparable location downtown is generally going to be at least twice as expensive as the prices we are offering and not offer the same amenities,” Singbeil said. “To find out more about pricing and availability please feel free to reach out to me.”

WSU Seattle’s Fifth Avenue location currently has around 30 full‑time employees from various departments and units including the Ruckleshaus Center, Washington State Academy of Sciences, WSU Foundation, WSU Athletics and the Office of Research.

It is in close proximity to all downtown Seattle amenities such as restaurants, hotels and public transit to and from Sea‑Tac Airport.
