The women’s soccer team is again headed into the postseason.

For just the fifth time in school history, the program will host an NCAA tournament game, with the Cougars taking on Montana at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at the Lower Soccer Field on the Pullman campus.

It marks the second straight season the Cougars have been selected to the NCAA tournament and the 12th overall appearance for the program. At 12‑5‑1, with a win over then‑No. 8 UCLA and a draw against No. 1 Stanford, the regular season was one of the most successful years for the program. The 12 wins are the most for the soccer squad since winning 14 games in 2015, the year where they last hosted an NCAA tournament game against Northwestern.

The Cougar’s tournament run ended last season with a loss to No. 16 Florida in double overtime during the third round of the tournament. They had beaten No. 8 UCF in the opening round and No. 20 Tennessee in the second.

Montana comes to Pullman with a 7‑8‑6 record. The two teams already played each other earlier this season on Sept. 14. The Cougars won that game 3‑1.
