WSU hosts Cyber Security Awareness Summit

WSU’s Information Technology Services will host the third annual Cyber Security Awareness Summit 9 a.m.–noon Tuesday, Oct. 23, at the Smith Center for Undergraduate Education, Room 518.

This year’s summit will focus specifically on information security topics that affect WSU.

The featured speaker is from FireEye, a cybersecurity company that protects its clients from the impact and consequences of cyber attacks. That presentation is slated for 9–10 a.m.

The summit is designed for information technology professionals and is free. However, attendance is limited, so those interested are encouraged to RSVP as soon as possible.

Reservations for the summit need to be made by Thursday, Oct. 18, via email to communications.its@wsu.edu.

For those not located at the Pullman campus, participants may attend the event via phone or streamed media at selected WSU campuses locations.

  • WSU Tri-Cities (Floyd 247)
  • WSU Vancouver (VECS 120)
  • WSU Everett (conference room 200D)

This year’s summit is specifically focused on information security topics affecting WSU.

The schedule includes:

  • 9–10 a.m. – Guest speaker from FireEye.
  • 10–11 a.m. – WSU Information Technology Services panel.
  • 11 a.m.–Noon – Networking hour.
