WSU Vancouver receives 2017 Tree Campus USA recognition

For the fourth year running, WSU Vancouver has been recognized for its dedication to the campus environment by Tree Campus USA, an Arbor Day Foundation program.

To earn this distinction, WSU Vancouver had to meet the five core standards for sustainable campus forestry required by Tree Campus USA, including establishment of a tree advisory committee, evidence of a campus tree-care plan, dedicated annual expenditures for its campus tree program, an Arbor Day observance and the sponsorship of student service learning projects.

“Recognition of these efforts by third parties is important in underlining and confirming our commitment to environmental stewardship,” said Vice Chancellor of Finance and Operations Lynn Valenter.
