Jan. 27: Country Living Expo and Cattlemen’s Winterschool

milking goatsSTANWOOD, Wash. – The Country Living Expo and Cattlemen’s Winterschool will be held Saturday, Jan. 27, at Stanwood High School in Stanwood, Wash.

The expo offers 185 classes, 65 vendors, and features radio host Trent Loos as the keynote speaker.

Loos is a sixth-generation farmer, beef and swine producer, lifelong advocate of independent farmers and ranchers, and humorous personality who tells stories that bridge the gap between rural food producers and urban consumers.

New classes this year include:

  • Creating a website for your small business.
  • Attracting barn owls.
  • Tiny house design.
  • Sourcing low-carb hay for horse owners.

Returning classes include:

  • pruning fruit trees
  • growing luscious tomatoes
  • rainwater catchment
  • greenhouse growing 101

Registration is $75 for adults and a sponsored student rate of $10 for ages 12-18. Registration includes coffee & pastries, five classes, and choice of prime rib or vegetarian lunch.
