Departments with toll-free lines face new monthly fees

WSU departments in Pullman that have toll-free phone lines will be charged $5 per month per line beginning Dec. 1.

The new charge follows WSU’s shift in July to Level 3 as its new phone service provider. While the university now benefits from reduced costs for incoming calls, overall recurring monthly phone expenses have increased.

In order to manage the added expense, beginning on December 1, ITS will charge $5 per month per toll free line used by departments across the university.

Departments that currently have toll free lines can discontinue their use prior to December 1 to avoid the new $5 per month fee for those toll free lines. To request the service be discontinued, submit a request through the ITS service request site.

If your department has a toll free service directly through a different service provider, this does not affect you.  If moving to ITS’ toll free service is financially beneficial, you can also request the change through the service request page.
