Sept. 26: Faculty Artist Series concert ‘We Are America’

PULLMAN, Wash. – The WSU School of Music’s Faculty Artist Series will present “We Are America” 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, in Bryan Hall Theatre.

This presentation will feature the talents of Julie Wieck, soprano and associate professor of muic, and Karen Savage, piano, associate professor of music.

The program includes songs that represent the history and diversity of experiences that make up the United States. Among the Americans depicted in song will be settlers, Native Americans, cowboys, slaves, soldiers and immigrants through the music of such composers as Aaron Copland, Libby Larsen, John Kander, Charles Ives, and Kurt Weill.

Proceeds from ticket sales in the series benefit the School of Music Scholarship Fund. Tickets go on sale one hour before performances in the lobby and cost $10 general admission, $5 senior citizens (55+) and non-WSU students, and free for WSU students with ID.
