PULLMAN, Wash. – An electrifying adaptation of Mel Brooks’ monstrously funny film, “Young Frankenstein,” will be performed by a cast of 22 Washington State University students at 8 p.m. Friday, April 7, and 2 p.m. Saturday, April 8, in Bryan Hall.
This WSU Mom’s Weekend production is rated PG-13 and may not be appropriate for younger audiences.
Tickets will be available in Kimbrough Hall lobby 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 5-7 and at the door 1½ hours before each performance. General admission costs $15, students/seniors $10.
As grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, Frederick Frankenstein inherits his family’s estate in Transylvania. With the help of a hunchbacked sidekick, Igor, and a leggy lab assistant, Inga, the young Frankenstein finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors.
The performance is directed by Julie Anne Wieck, associate professor of music. Lark Powers, clinical assistant professor, was rehearsal accompanist but the performances will be supported by a pit orchestra conducted by assistant professor Danh Pham.
