DhingraPULLMAN, Wash. – Measuring the impact of research is important to universities, funding agencies and the public. At Washington State University, programs like the Entrepreneurial Faculty Ambassadors and the National Science Foundation I Corps site are examples of how the Office of Research and colleges are supporting entrepreneurship and industrial outreach.

Associate professor Amit Dhingra, a member of the ambassadors and founder of the technology transfer company Phytelligence Inc., will talk about “Striving toward excellence and tangible impact – the role of entrepreneurism in a university” at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31, in Lighty 405. The focus on research impact aligns well with WSU’s land-grant mission, Dhingra said, and bolsters WSU’s goal to become “recognized as one of the nation’s top 25 U.S. public research institutions, preeminent in research and discovery, teaching and engagement, by 2030,” as articulated by President Kirk Schultz.
