PULLMAN, Wash. – The newly elected leadership team for the Administrative Professional Advisory Council (APAC) at Washington State University will be inaugurated at the annual retreat on June 16 in Pullman.
The retreat will serve as a starting point for the council to review its purpose and set goals for the 2016-17 academic year. Highlights will include:
– Address by President Kirk Schulz
– Team building exercise
– Committee goals/priorities for the year
Those to be inaugurated include:
– Chair Ray Acuña-Luna, retention counselor with the college assistance migrant program
– Past chair Larry Clark, editor of Washington State Magazine
– Vice chair Brigitta Jozefowski, grants and contracts coordinator for the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine
– Secretary/treasurer Adam Williams, administrative manager in the entomology department and the School of Food Science.
John Sullivan and Amanda Sperry will begin three-year terms on the council. Sue Shipman will finish a vacated one-year term and Stephanie Rink, Tony Broyles and Sue Gilchrist will begin one-year alternate terms.
APAC’s purpose is “to provide institutional advocacy for WSU administrative professional employees and to disseminate information and provide opportunities for professional development and recognition for APs,” said Acuña-Luna.
Although the retreat is for elected council members, APs are encouraged to attend APAC’s general meetings on the second Thursday of the month, starting in September. For more information, visit http://apac.wsu.edu.
