Media advisory: WSU to dedicate research building May 5

paccar buildingWhat: A formal dedication and guided tours of Washington State University’s PACCAR Environmental Technology Building on the Pullman campus.

Photo opportunities: A tour of the building and a reception will follow a short program to celebrate the formal opening of WSU’s newest research facility. Interim President Dan Bernardo, WSU Board of Regents Chair Ryan Durkan, PACCAR Executive Chairman Mark Pigott, Simpson Strong-Tie CEO Karen Colonias and others will join WSU researchers, faculty and students for the program.

When: 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 5.

Where: 120 Grimes Way, Pullman, Wash.

Background: The 96,000-square-foot PACCAR Environmental Technology Building is one of the greenest buildings on the Pullman campus. The U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification program awarded it gold certification for sustainable and energy-efficient design.

The building houses five of WSU’s longstanding centers of interdisciplinary environmental research, including sustainable design and construction, water quality and atmospheric sciences.
