April 28: Livestock guardian dogs as farm predator control

An-LGD-from-Hidden-Medow-FarmEVERETT, Wash. – Working with a livestock guardian dog (LGD) is the topic of a workshop 7-9 p.m. Thursday, April 28, in the Washington State University Snohomish County Extension Cougar Auditorium, 600 128th St. SE, Everett (inside McCollum Park).

Instructor Laura Faley is a livestock advisor who uses LGDs for predator control on her Mount Vernon, Wash., working farm, Hidden Meadow Ranch. She will talk about how to acquire and train the dogs, whether they make good family pets, zoning and barking ordinances vs. the “right to farm,” fencing, feeding, neutering and more.
