Through May 7: Masters students show art; reception April 8

PULLMAN, Wash. – Art by six masters of fine arts students will be displayed at the Washington State University Museum of Art through May 7. An opening reception will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 8. Admission is free.

The annual Master of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition “enriches the community life of WSU by providing meaningful encounters with creativity and innovation,” said Chris Bruce, museum director.

The exhibition provides a wide range of styles and stimulating experiences for faculty, students and local museum constituents, according to curators Zach Mazur and Ryan Hardesty.

The MFA thesis candidates are: Dani Brooks, Alx Dockter, Kayleigh Lang, Nicole Nee, Dylan Steinmetz and Kayla White. View interviews with each student, explaining their art and process, on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1267173579962970.1073741881.222732361073769&type=3.

Funding for this exhibition is provided by the members of the Museum of Art, the Samuel H. and Patricia W. Smith Art Endowment, the WSU College of Liberal Arts and the Department of Fine Arts.

The museum is located on Wilson Road across from Martin Stadium in the Fine Arts Center on the WSU Pullman campus. Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday and open until 7 p.m. Thursday. For more information, please contact the museum at 509-335-1910.
