Task force will look into rising costs of classroom materials

booksPULLMAN, Wash. – In an effort to lessen the cost of higher education for Washington State University students, Interim President Dan Bernardo has convened a task force to address the rising costs of course materials.

A report will be submitted to Co-provosts Erica Austin and Ron Mittelhammer by May 15, with followup planned for fall as needed.

from-the-provost-logoStudents, faculty and staff will explore open source options and other alternatives to high-priced textbooks, clickers and other learning resources.

In the meantime, faculty can assist students by:

Turning in textbook requests for fall semester to the Bookie as early as possible.

Placing course materials on reserve, which can help students access materials.
