March 8, 10: Events celebrate International Women’s Day

iwd-logoPULLMAN, Wash. – International Women’s Day, March 8, will be marked with a variety of events at Washington State University on Tuesday and Thursday, March 8 and 10.

Carnations with inspirational messages will be distributed in the CUB starting at 11 a.m. on March 8, and a presentation and dance will be 4-5:30 p.m. in Butch’s Den in the CUB for the One Billion Rising international initiative to end violence against women.

A discussion about the rights and experiences of transgender people, including discrimination in the 2016 presidential race, will be noon-1 p.m. in Butch’s Den. Learn more about Cougs Vote or other Public Square discussions at http://cce.wsu.edu.

On March 10, students are invited to hear from international women faculty about how they have achieved success during a Professional Sharing Night dinner at 6 p.m. in the Carson Center. RSVP at ip.intlcenter@wsu.edu.
