PULLMAN, Wash. – Kathryn Harris and Melanie Thornton have been elected to the board of directors of the National Association of Graduate and Professional Students (NAGPS).
Harris, director of legislative affairs for the Washington State University Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA), will serve the same role on the national board. She is a doctoral student in archaeology.
Thornton, president of the WSU GPSA, will be director of communications on the NAGPS board. She is a doctoral student in environmental and natural resources.
NAGPS is a student-run, volunteer organization representing more than 600,000 graduate and professional students from over 90 schools across the country. It advocates for institutional and structural changes to improve graduate and professional education in the United States.
