RICHLAND, Wash. – Students will make presentations about more than 150 research projects this week as part of the Undergraduate Research Symposium and Art Exhibition at Washington State University Tri-Cities.
“Throughout the next few days, members of the community can come and learn about what students have been researching and ask questions,” said Allison Matthews, coordinator and clinical assistant psychology professor.
The first session will be noon-1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, in Consolidated Information Center (CIC) 120. The second session will be noon-1p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, in CIC 120. The third session will be noon-1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, in CIC 120 and the CIC Art Gallery.
Research areas include anthropology, sociology, political science, digital technology and culture, English, fine arts, foreign language and culture, horticulture, psychology, education and viticulture and enology.
Some of the project topics include special education law, which will be shared with area legislators for educational purposes; the impact of sugar concentration on the ecology of wine fermentation; and the “Positively 3 Days” art installation, in which students, faculty and staff members created three art pieces.
