Nov. 14: Hackathon connects students to Internet technology

hackathonPULLMAN, Wash. – A free, 24-hour Hardware Hackathon will see 28 teams competing to create any hardware system that connects to the Internet at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, in Sloan Hall 175 at Washington State University.

Each team will be provided with standard electrical hacking equipment and a microcontroller. Learn more at http://hardwarehackathon.eecs.wsu.edu/.

Prizes will include a 3D printer. Winners will be chosen by a jury made up of members of Digilent Inc., the University of Idaho and F5 Networks. Judging will be based on completeness, design structure and the final product.

The event is sponsored by Digilent, which donated $11,000 worth of equipment, the WSU chapter of the Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers, Robosub Club of the Palouse and the Robotics Club.
