July 11: WSU design group facilitates rural recreation planning

Soap-Lake-parksSOAP LAKE, Wash. – A community workshop about designing parks and recreation opportunities for Soap Lake will be 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, July 11, in the Soap Lake middle/high school library.

Recreation survey findings will be presented by the Grant County Health Department. Participants will engage in design of a general parks plan, playground, connecting trails and additional community activities.

The session will be conducted by the Rural Communities Design Initiative at Washington State University (http://rcdiwsu.wix.com/id425#!about/c14qb) and the Washington Parks and Recreation Committee. It is also sponsored by Soap Lake Parks and Recreation, Friends of the Lower Grand Coulee and Grant County Health District (http://www.soaplakeforlocals.com/events/parksrecworkshop.html).
