June 11: China medical school university seeks partnership

Danming-LinPULLMAN, Wash. – A Chinese university with a strong medical college seeks to collaborate with Washington State University on student exchanges and summer programs. Representatives will make a presentation to the WSU community at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 11, in CUB 204.

Located in Guangdong Province in eastern China, Shantou University (STU) has approximately 28,000 students with over 40 percent enrolled in its medical college.

STU has proposed a memorandum of understanding for future collaborations in the areas of student exchange and summer programs with WSU.

Six administrators from STU, led by vice president Danming Lin, will visit WSU.

STU has formal academic ties with 28 universities in 14 countries and areas. As of 2014, more than one-third of STU’s faculty had overseas education backgrounds and working experiences.
