We can help Parkinson’s patients speak up

Parkinson's-speech-detailSPOKANE, Wash. – A device to counter effects of Parkinson’s disease is under construction in the office of Washington State University Spokane researcher Mark VanDam. It costs under $50.

Symptoms of the neurodegenerative disease include loss of speech volume. VanDam’s device provides real-time vocal biofeedback to remind wearers to speak up.
