PULLMAN, Wash. – Seven-time Grammy winner, Emmy winner, humanitarian, singer-songwriter and producer Ziggy Marley will headline the third annual Humanitas Festival at Washington State University at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at Beasley Coliseum.
Reserved seats are $54.50 – minus a $5 discount for WSU students, staff and faculty – and can be purchased at TicketsWest outlets including Beasley Coliseum, by phone at 800-325-SEAT (7328) and online at http://TicketsWest.com.
Marley has released 12 albums including “Love is My Religion” (Tuff Gong Worldwide), which earned a Grammy in 2006 for “Best Reggae Album,” and his third solo album, “Family Time” (Tuff Gong Worldwide), which won a Grammy award for “Best Children’s Album.”
To coincide with the release of his latest album, “Fly Rasta,” which earned Marley his seventh Grammy this year, he also released his debut children’s book, “I Love You Too,” a co-production of Akashic Books and Tuff Gong Worldwide.
Marley’s early immersion in music came at age 10 when he sat in on recording sessions with his father, Bob Marley.
His group Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers released eight best-selling albums that garnered three Grammys with such chart-topping hits as “Look Who’s Dancing,” “Tomorrow People” and “Tumbling Down.”
Marley is founder of U.R.G.E. (Unlimited Resources Giving Enlightenment), a nonprofit organization that benefits efforts in Jamaica, Ethiopia and other developing nations to build schools, operate health clinics and support charities like Mary’s Child, a center for abused and neglected girls.
In 2015 Marley launched Ziggy Marley Organics, a GMO-free product line including flavored coconut oils and hemp seed snacks whose products are available in over 1,000 stores nationwide.
