June 2, 3: Gene-sequencing training at Pullman, Spokane

sequencing-workshops

SPOKANE, Wash. – Researchers across Washington State University will learn about studying gene expression via RNA sequencing at free workshops June 2 at WSU Pullman and June 3 at WSU Spokane.

Registration is required at http://labs.wsu.edu/genomicscore/rna-workshop/ (scroll down). Participants are asked to bring laptop computers.

The Genomics Core at WSU Spokane will host the training, which will be presented by scientists from Illumina, Inc., maker of gene-sequencing instruments and assays used at the recently established core.

Topics will include workflow from experimental design to data analysis. Focus will be given to analysis of RNA-sequenced data on BaseSpace, a cloud-based computing platform.

Pullman training will be 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday, June 2, in the Biotechnology Life Sciences Building 402. The Spokane workshop will be 9 a.m.-noon Wednesday, June 3, in the Pharmaceutical & Biomedical Sciences Building 118.
