April 18: Beasley hosts roller derby fundraiser for veteran

roller-derbyPULLMAN, Wash. – A family-friendly roller derby double header will include a beer garden fundraiser for an injured veteran beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Beasley Coliseum at Washington State University. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. with a suggested entrance donation of $5.

The local Rolling Hills Derby Dames will take on Lewiston, Idaho’s Hells Canyon Honeys at 7 p.m. The Wheat Whackers, Pullman’s junior derby team, will start at 5 p.m. against Rodeo City of Ellensburg, Wash.

For those 21 and older, Paradise Creek Brewery of Pullman will sell an assortment of beer. Beer garden proceeds will go to Staff Sgt. Cody Ensley, a U.S. Army Special Forces Purple Heart recipient from Lewiston who was injured in Afghanistan.
