great-collegesPULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University is participating in the “Great Colleges to Work For” study sponsored by The Chronicle of Higher Education. It includes confidential surveys of employees at institutions throughout the country in an effort to improve work environments.

A random sample of 600 WSU faculty and staff has been contacted by Modern Think LLC, an independent polling firm. It is important that WSU have a high response rate in order to provide statistical validity and valuable feedback. The institutions deemed “Great Colleges to Work For” will be featured in the July issue of the Chronicle.

Survey results will provide benchmarks for improving campus work environments and will further research by the Chronicle on the factors and influences that have the most impact on organizational culture at institutions of higher education.

The questionnaire, which typically takes 20-25 minutes to complete, addresses the work climate and culture at the institution as well as employee satisfaction with benefits, salary and work conditions.
