Conference-Chair-Andy-CavagnettoSPOKANE, Wash. – Papers may be submitted through April 1 for the second International Argument-based Inquiry Conference to be held Aug. 5-7 in Spokane. The gathering will be hosted by the College of Education at Washington State University.

Argument-based inquiry promotes proficiency in the scientific process by encouraging students to discuss, dispute and defend their ideas and findings.

The conference will bring together scholars from diverse fields (science and mathematics education, literacy, measurement, psychology) to discuss the difficulties of implementation and measurement – and potential solutions, including needed policy changes.
