David-CillayPULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University is creating a new faculty service center that will streamline use of existing educational technologies and improve adoption of future tools.

The move is part of a broader initiative by the WSU Provost’s office—in conjunction with the Teaching Academy and the Global Campus—to increase student engagement and success. That initiative includes faculty-led workshops and tutorials on new technologies, a video series and the upcoming Technology Test Kitchen.

“The new center merges the technological expertise of Academic Media Services and the Global Campus into a single resource,” said Global Campus Vice President Dave Cillay, who will lead the center. “The result will be a single doorway for faculty seeking to use technology to improve student success.”

The new center, Cillay said, will promote a service-oriented approach to the needs of faculty and students.

“We are working to become the best technology support group in the country,” he said.
