Showcase deadline March 18: Events include cake for 125th

showcase-logoPULLMAN, Wash. – Registration closes Wednesday, March 18, for the Celebrating Excellence Recognition Banquet on Friday, March 27 – part of the annual Showcase celebration of excellence at Washington State University.

125th-marksIn honor of WSU’s 125th anniversary, the Alumni Association will serve birthday cake on Friday, March 27. Find more information on all events and register for the banquet and the Distinguished Faculty Address at http://showcase.wsu.edu/schedule/.

The address, on Thursday, March 26, will be presented by Gerald Berthiaume, professor in the School of Music. A reception will follow.

Other events include: Crimson Reads: A Celebration of WSU Authors on Tuesday, March 24; the Emeritus Society Legacy of Excellence Awardee Presentation on Wednesday, March 25; Three-Minute Thesis presentations on Thursday, March 26; the Academic Showcase on Friday, March 27; and the Showcase for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (SURCA) on Monday, March 30.

The March 27 banquet will honor newly tenured and promoted faculty; new patent awardees; and faculty and staff recipients of annual awards for outstanding achievement. Those awards include:

Eminent Faculty Award; Sahlin Faculty Excellence Awards; President’s Employee Excellence Awards; President’s Distinguished Teaching Awards for Non-Tenure Track Faculty; Emeritus Society Legacy of Excellence Award; Faculty Diversity Award; Association for Faculty Women Samuel H. Smith Leadership Award; and presenter of the Distinguished Faculty Address.
