RICHLAND, Wash. – Club sports were introduced at Washington State University Tri-Cities in the fall, and the first home game – men’s rugby vs. North Idaho College – will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Crimson Field on the south side of Sprout Road. The game and parking are free to the public.
“As the first sports team at the WSU Tri-Cities campus to compete in a home game, we are honored to represent the school and the student body,” said men’s rugby coach Nolan Manzano. “The coaching staff have been working with the student athletes and we feel that they are ready for this challenge.”
“As a student and athlete at WSU Tri-Cities, I feel that we are in search for something that we can call our own,” said rugby team member Tyler Stark. “Our team is laying the foundation to transform the everyday academic routine of students and the university, offering opportunities for students to get involved and make our college careers more than just attending school.”
