March 22 deadline to nominate for leadership awards

PULLMAN, Wash. – Deadlines are March 8 and 22 to recommend community groups and Washington State University students and employees for the annual WSU President’s Award for Leadership.

Awardees will be honored at the Leadership and Engagement Awards of Distinction (LEAD) event on April 23. Awards are a partnership of Student Involvement and the WSU Center for Civic Engagement.

Recipients demonstrate exceptional leadership and service to the university, community and to those who support leadership development and engagement in WSU students. Award categories are student, student group, faculty or staff and community organization.

Applicants will be considered within the framework of the social change model of leadership development, specifically with respect to these qualities: consciousness of self, congruence, commitment, collaboration, common purpose, controversy with civility, citizenship and change.

Student nominations are due March 8. Student applications and other nominations are due March 22.
